Hitting the Trails... May 2010
We braved the weather and kept our trail riding plans even though the forcast was 100% for rain. We had a great time and managed to get some trail riding in too!
Graysie on County Time and Evan on Jaggers' Jezel. in between rain showers we managed to squeeze in a ride after all!
Never fear, Erin-Beth and Sadie will always be ready to ride!!!
A little rain won't keep us down, just bring the ponchos please...
Well, some of us were too cool for ponchos.... Looks like someone is getting wet!
Evan and Jaggers' Jezel. This filly was born and raised here at Marcum Valley and this was her first trail trip off the farm. She is an excellent filly and Evan is an excellent rider, together they were great! Evan likes to go just as much as this "Jezzie"
WOW, I think Mommy had the most fun, she got to ride MVR's I Am Legend! He is amazing! A perfect gentleman around the fillies, very sure footed, went anywhere he was asked, and walks on a loose rein. I love this colt!!!
Even in the rain...What a great weekend riding!!!
Okay, okay I finally let Donnie take Legend for a spin, but only because I wanted some photos!!! I haven't liked one this much since Mr. Marcum!
After braving the rain, nothing like kicking back in the cabin and just being thankful to spend some time together!
Trail riding April 2010
Richie & Donnie headed out for a trail ride.

Bear Creek October
What a great trip! One of the only times since Graysie has been big enough to ride alone that we have made it with all the kids. Jenna-17 and the boyfriend Nick-16, Evan-12, Erin-Beth- 11, Graysie- 7 and of course Dad & Mom too. What a crew and what a blessing! We are already planning a return trip, I can't wait!
Playing in the river
We had great fun in the river as you can see. The horses loved getting wet and some of the riders had no choice! Bear Creek- Blue Heron river October 08.
Evan & Erin Bear Creek
"Hey Mom how deep does the water get over by those big rocks?" Where one goes, the other is sure to follow. We are just glad they all know how to swim :)!
Daddy & Jenna
It's just like riding a bike huh?! Well, although Jenna doesn't ride as much as the rest of us, she hasn't forgotten too much, and had a great trip. She is already asking when we are going back. That is the great thing about having Rockies as part of our family, no matter what other interests present themselves, trail riding is always something we can rely on to take time out and do together. Priceless memories!
Graysie giving last minute pointers!
Graysie let Nick take Bubba Can Dance out for his first trail experience. She had to be sure to give him all the tips and tell him exactly what to do with Bubba. She had strict instructions for Bubba to take good care of Nick and he did just that!
Nick, Jenna, Erin on the trails
Nick's very first official trail ride. I would never trust a novice rider on anything but one of our Rockies. They took excellent care of him and he did great job too!
Mr. Marcum likes the river too!
Mr. Marcum was right at home in the Blue Heron River!
Always clowning around!
I tell the kids to expect anything, but I should really warn the horses too. They never miss out on an opportunity to clown around on their horses!
See what I mean?
Just heading back to camp.
Photo op
I just can't seem to pass up the opportunity to take photos of my babies, that includes Mr. Marcum too!
Jenna & Nick
Has anyone seen my phone??? Hey Hollywood, just lead the way!!!
At the end of the day...
The hot tub was a welcome treat and enjoyed by all.

BSF July 08
This was a great trip too and we took lots more photos. Enjoy...
Break time
After a dip in the creek and a snack, we were ready to ride again.
Making memories
As I look back at our family photos I am thankful for time well spent with our horses. I tragically lost my only brother October 2008 and although nothing will replace my memories, I wish I would have taken the time to create many more. I will always regret never taking him on a trail riding trip. Life is too short and we are never promised tomorrow.

Big South Fork July 08
